Lisa Reissig

French

Bonjour! I’m Madame Reissig. I love languages, and I love to teach. I started to learn French at the age of twelve, and I’ve loved it ever since- the language and the culture. Teaching allows me to be creative and help students learn a language in an enjoyable way. I like to use different methods to match learning styles. Most importantly, it’s a joy to point students to the Creator of language.

I have a BA in French from Wheaton College (IL), and an MA in Instructional Systems Design from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. I’ve spent time studying in France as well as traveling to Montréal and Québec City.

I started teaching in 1993 in the public school system. I have taught elementary through adults in a variety of settings. I’ve been the recipient of various teaching awards and have presented workshops both locally and nationally about language teaching. In 2013 I started teaching online. I also hold a TEFL certificate which allows me to teach English online to people all over the world.

I currently live on Maryland’s Eastern Shore with my husband, two daughters, and black cockapoo dog. When I’m not teaching or homeschooling, I like to cook, cross-stitch, watch baseball, and eat chocolate, the world’s best food.
