Gayle Foley has 18 years of classroom teaching and is excited to be a part of the online community at Big River Academy. She graduated from Concordia University with a BA in Education (English major, Science & Religion minors), and later gained a Masters in Elementary Education from Wayne State University.

She has worked mainly in Christian schools in Michigan, Illinois, and even Okinawa, Japan. She has taught grades 1-12 and occasionally adult classes (ESL and Bible study). Gayle worked 10 years at Family Christian Stores as an Assistant Manager and is currently working part-time at the local Hobby Lobby in addition to teaching online at Big River Academy.

An eternally-focused lifelong Christian, she is an active member of Shepherd’s Gate Lutheran Church in Shelby Township, Michigan, and has been a small group leader in the Thursday Morning Women’s Bible Study for the past 3 years.

Gayle was widowed in 2011, has no children, and currently shares a condo with her widowed mother. Her hobbies include reading, genealogy, and doing crafts such as painting, scrapbooking, and jigsaw puzzles.
